The Netflix Contrarian Play

I’ve stated before that I love when analysts start hating stocks. Today, Netflix (NFLX) was downgraded from a hold to a sell. In typical analyst fashion, as the stock has begun sliding from the high last week after Netflix announced positive earnings, Wall Street analysts are now pounding the drum to sell the stock.

The cash deal is worth $4 Million plus 5.25% over the next 3 years.

Microsoft Beats the Street

Microsoft (MSFT) released first quarter earnings today and beat the street estimate by 3 cents. Earnings were $.26 cents a share compared with the $.23 cents predicted by analysts on the street.

Netflix profit tops Street view, shares jump 6%

Netflix reported not only a blowout quarter, but issued guidance for the year in revenues of between $1.25 billion and $1.3 billion. By rolling out their new plan for allowing immediate downloads using the Windows Media Player, they are going to give companies like Apple, Movielink and Vongo a run for their money.

TD Ameritrade Holding Corp. (AMTD) said Thursday that Chief Executive Joseph H. Moglia realized $55.05 million from the exercise of stock options to acquire 3,991,681 shares during the fiscal year ended Sept. 29.

Venezuela Mining Min: Crystallex Only Needs Mine Permit

I’ve been talking about this company for six months now. Crystallex is in a great position here especially with Hugo Chavez turning much of the country’s business into a socialist network of government run facilities. This is actually good news for the Canadian mining company because now all they need is the permit from the government to mine. This will put thousands of Venezuelans to work and I think immediately raise the price of the stock.
